People with cancer and their families might feel especially worried about the virus, as cancer and its treatment can lower your ability to fight infection.

Coronavirus is a viral infection that affects the lungs. Anyone who has a weakened immune system is more at risk of being seriously ill if they get coronavirus (COVID-19). People with cancer may be at a higher risk of getting coronavirus (COVID-19). It is important to follow the advice from the NHS and your healthcare team.

The Government is advising everybody to:

Stay at home

Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (where this absolutely can’t be done from home)

Stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people

Wash your hands as soon as you get home
